Fichchee

Dear fellow Sidamas

Do not you feel sky high proud being of citizen of Sidama Nation, which is one of may be 4 or 5 nations in universe who have their own calender of year, months, weeks days, hours.

This year Fichchee will be celebrated on the coming Monday (the day after tomorrow) night and Canbalaalla will be celebrated for weeks starting Tuesday morning.

So, Dear Sidamas

1/ Each of us be abroad or in Sidama land, have ancestral obligation to celebrate Fichchee on Monday night.
2/ On this day night, every of us should celebrate in gathering with our relatives, friends, etc where ever we are.
3/ Every of us should pass this information to every Sidama in the universe. Each of us not less than 10.
4/ On that day let us invite others and make them know about Sidama.
5/ Every Sidama should make effort in publicizing about Sidama culture, history, struggle social values etc. at any means of public media at his disposal.
6/ On that and for the next 7 days, let us say hello to each other, to our relatives friends, abroad and inside.

Once again Happy Fichchee , Happy Sidama New Year

Haru sidaamu diri baxxilena mitima abbonke.

I am sorry, I posted my comment on fichchee in another unrelated article

Hello there,

first and for most, I wanna express my appreciation of your job on behalf of the voiceless sidamas back in Sidama land. I dearly applaud you for you have been working day and night to bring the real image of sidamas and made these beloved nations known to the people inside out in Ethiopia and into the international community in general.
Well, let me come back to the main point. I wish all the sidama ppl in the sidama land and in diaspora and friends of sidama HAPPY SIDAMA NEW YEAR (FICHCHE-sorry if i missplet it). I wish the new year being a year of peace, prosperity, unity, and above all the year in which we would be able to see Woyane free sidama land and ppl enjoying selfgovernance.

Hello! My husband and I adopted our 6-yr-old daughter and 4-yr-old son from Sidama last January, 2009 (USA calendar). We are looking for a Sidaama speaker and/or Sidama cultural resources in the New York City or New Jersey area. We would love for them to re-learn the Sidaama language and also to experience Sidama culture in the form of music, art, books, food, or more. Is there someone who would be able to help us with this? Thanks! Michele
